A Message from President Scott H. Henry

Hello All -

Welcome to AAPI, the world's premier trade association for antique and amusement photographers. Our association was founded 20 years ago by forward thinking photographers intent on joining together to solve a few common issues within the Old Time Portrait industry. We remained strong as we conquered our next big challenge during the switch from film to digital. The current economic climate becomes our third (and possibly most critical) reason to remain joined together as a group intent on improving the Old Time and Amusement portrait industry.

If you are a customer looking to find an Old Time Portrait studio, check out the Studio Locator to search for the nearest studio to your location. Visit them and be prepared to have the time of your life! You'll not only get a great photo, but you'll have a memory to last a lifetime.

If you're an AAPI studio or vendor member, please check our our Members Only section for access to vendor links, AAPI news, photo convention info, educational articles, a forum and much more. Please support our member vendors, where you'll get the support you will need well after the sale.

As I begin my final term as president I often think back to my early years, and those men and women who, through their help, were integral to the success of my studio. I am proud to call these business associates my friends. If I can be on any assistance to you, please do not hesitate to email me at president@oldtimephotos.org

Scott H. Henry, AAPI President

Scott's Bio

Scott got his start in the Old Time Photo Industry as a manager of several old time portrait studios in Wisconsin Dells. He eventually moved on and opened his own studio in Lake Tahoe, CA in 1984. Wishing to expand and desiring a location closer to his roots in central Wisconsin, Scott selected Fish Creek as the location for his second studio, which opened in 1990. While simultaneously managing both studios, he also traveled to 4 major state fairs through the country. The permanent studios have since been sold, but Scott continues to "live the carny life" at fairs, special events and malls during the holiday season.

Scott is a charter member of AAPI, has served on the board of directors for over 10 years and chaired the Photo Contest Committee for most of those years. He is proud to be serving his 3rd term as the association's president and he looks forward to finalizing plans for the 2011 convention.
